BOYER RETURNS FOR SECOND SEASON WITH MALLARDS

The Quad City Mallards of the “AA” Central Hockey League today announced they have re-signed center Jeremy Boyer.  Per club policy, no contract terms were announced.

Boyer, 21, returns for a second season with the Mallards after scoring 16 goals and totaling 32 points in 62 games as a rookie last year.

“Jeremy is a promising young two-way player who has also shown the ability to provide offense.  He did a good job of working hard to successfully adapt to the pro game last season,” said Mallards coach and general manager Terry Ruskowski.  “I look forward to having the chance to work with him this season and to see him continue to develop and help the team.”

In his first professional season, the 6’ 0”, 180-pound Boyer proved to be a key- and at times explosive- contributor to the Mallards’ attack.  He matched a team season high by notching four points in a single game in January and recorded hat tricks twice in a three week span in March.

Boyer joined the Mallards after scoring 42 times and producing 87 points in 50 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League games with the Humboldt Broncos and Yorkton Terriers in 2010-11.  The Saskatoon native went on to help the Terriers to the 2011 SJHL Credit Union Cup finals.

Boyer moved to the SJHL after spending four years in the major junior Western Hockey League with first the Seattle Thunderbirds and then the Saskatoon Blades.

2012-13 Mallards season tickets as well as the Mallards’ new Partial Punch Plan are on sale now.  The Mallards offer ticket packages to meet any budget, including youth season tickets now available for as little at $165.  The Partial Punch Plan provides flexibility and affordability- each Punch Plan punch card can be redeemed for ten tickets- whether those tickets are for ten different games, all for the same game or anything in between- subject to availability.  Partial Punch Plans can be had for as little as $70 for youth 12 and under.  For more ticket package information, fans can call the Mallards at 309-277-1364.
